Residential Conveyancer

About the role

A regional firm of solicitors, established in 1986 and offering private and publicly funded work, is looking for an experienced residential conveyancer to join its team. The position is based in Hartlepool or Peterlee and is permanent; full-time or part-time hours are available. Salary depends on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Advise and guide clients by email, telephone or face-to-face meetings on all aspects of the conveyancing process.
• Liaise with estate agents, mortgage lenders, the Land Registry and third-party solicitors.
• Draft documentation supporting the transaction, including advice notes, letters and other post-completion and registration documents.

Required profile

• At least two years of residential conveyancing experience as a fee-earner.
• New build experience is essential.
• Experience handling a caseload of transactions from inception to completion.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, an organised and methodical approach, excellent attention to detail and a polite, cheerful attitude with clients.
• Committed, self-motivated and able to work within a professional, friendly team.

Required skills

• Use of a case management system.
• Practical knowledge of IT systems, including MS Word and Excel.
