Residential Service Charge Accountant – Contract (London)

About the role

Deloitte Operations is seeking experienced Residential Service Charge Accountants to support a key client in London. The role involves managing and reconciling service charge accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Create manual balance sheets from system transactions with high accuracy.
• Analyse consolidated bank accounts to locate and verify transactions efficiently.
• Manage multiple residential service charge reconciliations simultaneously, tracking progress and reporting results.
• Maintain meticulous attention to detail while working in a target‑driven environment.
• Proactively resolve queries with initiative and independence.
• Interpret lease provisions accurately and understand data‑field relationships to produce correct financial outputs.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in residential service charge accounting.
• Proven experience working with external auditors and handling detailed audit inquiries.
• Familiarity with property management databases and the RICS Service Charge Code.
• Understanding of reserve/sinking fund management and Section 20b notices.
• Ability to manage multiple service charge schedules and work through debtors and creditors during charge periods.
