Roofer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Roofer to join our Croydon team on a full‑time permanent basis. You will work on both occupied and void properties, delivering high‑quality repairs and maintenance that keep homes safe and compliant with the Decent Homes Standard. The role involves 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and provides a company van and fuel card to support daily travel.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out general roofing repairs, including tile, felt and wooden battens replacement.
• Perform chimney repairs and replacements, and install or repair flat roofs using felt or asphalt systems.
• Execute lead work such as flashings, soakers, valley gutters, ridge, verge and hip tiles.
• Repair and replace guttering, downpipes, fascia, soffit and barge boards.
• Install roof insulation to joists and rafters and fit roof vents, eaves ventilation and ducting.
• Repair rooflights, skylights and respond to emergency call‑outs after storm damage.
• Identify defects, recommend remedial actions and record materials and time accurately.
• Liaise with tenants, site supervisors and support planned maintenance programmes.

Required profile

• Valid UK full driving licence.
• Experience in residential roofing and ability to work safely at height.
• Commitment to health and safety standards and the Decent Homes Standard.
• Good communication skills for interaction with tenants and supervisors.
