Sanctions & AML Analyst – Hybrid (London)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated, detail‑oriented Sanctions & AML Analyst to join our growing team in London. This hybrid position blends real‑time sanctions and AML monitoring with payment operations, giving you direct responsibility for keeping payments safe and on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Review real‑time transaction alerts for sanctions, PEP or adverse media matches.
• Monitor payment flows, investigate stuck or failed transactions and ensure timely processing.
• Perform initial Customer Due Diligence (CDD) on clients and beneficiaries using industry‑standard screening tools.
• Analyse suspicious behaviour, manage escalation to senior compliance members, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and banking partners.
• Identify trends in failed transactions, validate screening matches and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Accountable for ensuring payments are compliant and successful; you own the flow.
• First‑line analyst who evaluates alerts for genuine financial‑crime risk.
• Comfortable handling high alert volumes during peak operational hours.
• Hands‑on with data, able to spot trends and validate screening results.
• Eager to learn, grow and transition from basic monitoring to complex investigations.
