School Administrator – Attendance Officer (Barnet)

About the role
This full‑time, temporary position supports a welcoming secondary school in Barnet. You will be the backbone of the school’s administrative team, ensuring attendance records, student data and daily processes run smoothly.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and update student records using MIS platforms such as SIMS, Arbor or Bromcom.
- Monitor daily attendance, produce registers and generate reports for senior leaders.
- Handle inbound and outbound communications – phone calls, emails and letters.
- Support safeguarding, pastoral and attendance teams with accurate record‑keeping.
- Assist with admissions, enrolment and student transition activities.
- Perform general office duties including filing, scheduling and coordination.
- Liaise professionally with parents, carers, staff and external agencies.
Required profile
- Proven experience in a secondary school administrative role.
- Strong familiarity with school Management Information Systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Good understanding of GDPR, safeguarding and confidentiality policies.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
