School Cook – Temporary (September Start)

About the role

We are seeking a reliable School Cook to join our team in Chester on a temporary basis, starting in September. The role involves preparing nutritious meals for pupils and staff during term time, with flexible hours that fit around your schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve hot and cold meals for the school cafeteria.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety.
• Manage stock, order supplies and ensure kitchen cleanliness.
• Cover staff absences and adapt to varying shift patterns, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a chef or cook, preferably in a school or catering environment.
• Passion for food and ability to work efficiently under time pressure.
• Valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Flexibility to work a mix of shifts during term time.
