School Facilities Manager – Dorset Schools

About the role

The School Facilities Manager will oversee the management, maintenance and security of six primary schools within the Dorset portfolio of Pickwick Academy Trust. Working closely with headteachers and the Trust Head of Facilities, you will ensure that each site remains safe, compliant and supportive of the schools' educational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate repairs, maintenance contracts and day‑to‑day caretaking duties across all listed schools.
• Monitor health and safety compliance, security systems and statutory inspections.
• Maintain accurate records using the Trust’s compliance and asset management systems.
• Support sustainability initiatives and ensure grounds and buildings are clean, secure and welcoming.
• Provide cover at other Trust sites during periods of leave or sickness.

Required profile

• Proactive, reliable and able to work flexibly across multiple sites.
• Strong organisational skills with a commitment to safeguarding children.
• Experience in facilities or building management, preferably within an educational setting.

Required skills

• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and building regulations.
• Ability to manage contractors and maintenance schedules.
• Familiarity with security systems and statutory compliance checks.
