SCPHN Student Health Visitor / School Nurse (Funded Master's)

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to combine a Master's level qualification with paid employment as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN). You will be employed at Band 5 on a fixed‑term contract while studying Health Visiting or School Nursing at Birmingham City University.

Key responsibilities

• Support the 0‑19 Health Visiting and School Nursing Service in delivering the Healthy Child Programme.
• Conduct universal mandated contacts and provide evidence‑based packages of care.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to safeguard vulnerable children and contribute to multi‑agency care plans.
• Participate in child protection case management and maintain regular communication with external agencies.
• Develop leadership skills and engage with digital technologies throughout placements.

Required profile

• Qualified nurse or midwife with a passion for health visiting or school nursing.
• Forward‑thinking, creative, dynamic and enthusiastic about public health practice.
• Willingness to undertake a Master's level programme and a fixed‑term employment contract.
