Section Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Section Engineer to join our United Utilities framework in the North West of England. You will play a vital role in ensuring technical compliance of water infrastructure projects, working closely with project teams to deliver safe, on‑time, high‑quality outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee technical delivery and ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Monitor site progress through inspections and quality checks.
• Identify and resolve technical issues in collaboration with project managers and site teams.
• Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports and quality documentation.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Understanding of consents, logistics, and traffic management.
• Awareness of commercial processes.
• Experience in people and project management.

Required skills

• Interpretation of engineering drawings.
• Review of technical specifications and documents.
• Conducting site inspections and quality checks.
• Maintaining detailed project and quality records.
