SEN Classroom Assistant – Special Needs School

About the role

We are looking for a caring and proactive SEN Classroom Assistant to join a special‑needs school in Devizes. You will work with children aged 3‑16 who have autism, communication challenges, social interaction difficulties and language delays, helping them achieve academic, social and independence goals.

Key responsibilities

• Encourage students to engage and socialize with peers in a supportive manner.
• Build confidence, self‑esteem and self‑belief through positive reinforcement.
• Implement effective behaviour‑management strategies to promote positive behaviours.
• Ensure the safety and well‑being of pupils during all classroom activities.
• Participate in SEN training sessions provided by the school.

Required profile

• Determined, resilient and adaptable with a natural ability to connect with vulnerable children.
• Willingness to tailor approaches to meet individual needs.
• Previous experience with children is beneficial but not essential.
• Basic understanding of special educational needs is an advantage.

Required skills

• Effective communication with children and adults.
• Behaviour management techniques.
• Ability to follow health and safety procedures.

What we offer

• Daily rate of £90‑£100.
• Full‑time, on‑site position with immediate start.
