SEN Teacher (Complex Needs & Autism)

About the role
We are looking for an experienced SEN Teacher to lead a class of eight pupils aged 12‑15 with complex needs, including autism spectrum condition and global developmental delay. The role is based in a specialist school in North West London and starts in September 2025.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver a personalised curriculum across core subjects using multi‑sensory and practical approaches.
- Maintain a highly structured learning environment with visual timetables, ‘Now & Next’ boards and sensory stories.
- Support communication development through PECS, AAC devices and visual supports.
- Promote emotional regulation and life‑skills development.
- Collaborate with on‑site therapists and a multidisciplinary team to meet each pupil’s needs.
Required profile
- Qualified SEN teacher (QTS or QTLS) with a strong interest or experience in autism and complex learning needs.
- Proactive, flexible and passionate about inclusive education.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Required skills
- PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
- AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices
- Use of visual timetables and structured classroom strategies
