About the role
As an SEN Teacher at Copper Fields School you will deliver engaging, inclusive and ambitious learning tailored to the individual needs of pupils with SEND. You will work closely with a multi‑disciplinary team to create a safe, positive environment where every achievement is celebrated. For candidates with ambition, there is the opportunity to take on subject‑responsibility duties and help shape part of the curriculum.
Key responsibilities
- Planning and delivering personalised lessons that meet pupils' individual learning needs, EHCP outcomes and developmental targets.
- Adapting teaching approaches, resources and communication methods to ensure every pupil can access learning successfully.
- Monitoring and assessing progress, using evidence to inform future teaching and celebrate achievement.
- Creating nurturing, structured and engaging learning environments that promote confidence and independence.
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development through positive and relational approaches.
- Collaborating with therapists, support staff, families and external professionals to provide holistic support.
- Contributing to annual reviews, progress meetings and pupil reports.
- Participating in enrichment activities, educational visits and school events.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching children and young people with SEND, or a strong commitment to specialist education.
- Ability to create inclusive learning environments where every child feels valued and supported.
- Skilled in building positive relationships and supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing.
- Aspiration to develop curriculum leadership skills or previous experience leading a subject area.

- Salary up to £45,000 per annum (depending on experience).
- Permanent, term‑time only contract with 40.5 hours per week.
