About the role
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Guildford. The role starts in September and offers the chance to make a real difference for pupils with a range of additional needs.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with SEN.
- Assist students both inside and outside the classroom to access learning.
- Build positive relationships that encourage confidence and independence.
- Implement individual learning and behaviour plans.
- Support pupils with communication, social, emotional and sensory needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
- Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.
Required profile
- Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable).
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN, ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs (advantageous).
- Patient, caring and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Genuine passion for helping young people achieve their potential.
- Relevant education or experience in care, support work, youth work or psychology.
