Senior Accountant – Client Manager (Hybrid, Derby)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join a well‑established accountancy practice in Derby. The role combines client‑management responsibilities with senior accounting duties, offering a hybrid working model and flexible hours to support work‑life balance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed SMEs, charities and trusts.
• Prepare high‑quality statutory accounts and a range of business‑service deliverables.
• Supervise, mentor and develop junior team members.
• Collaborate with managers and partners across Derby, Birmingham and Ashbourne offices.
• Ensure timely, accurate delivery of client accounts and advisory work.

Required profile

• Fully ACA or ACCA qualified.
• Proven experience in a similar‑sized independent accountancy practice.
• Strong background in client‑portfolio management and junior staff supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills aligned with a collaborative culture.

• Salary £35,000‑£50,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
