Senior Automation Engineer

About the role

Clue Software is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to act as deputy to the QA Lead and operate as a sole contributor. This remote‑first position focuses on expanding automated test coverage for our cloud‑based platform while embracing AI‑assisted tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and continuously improve automated UI and API tests using Playwright and Postman.
• Create and execute performance and load tests with JMeter, analysing results and reporting.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure fast, reliable feedback for engineering teams.
• Provide QA leadership when the QA Lead is unavailable, owning end‑to‑end quality for features and releases.
• Collaborate with Azure‑based engineering teams and support testing of cloud‑native, distributed systems.
• Leverage AI‑assisted tools to accelerate test creation, optimisation, and defect detection.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a senior or lead QA engineer in a SaaS or cloud environment.
• Strong automation‑first mindset with proven ability to work independently.
• Comfortable stepping into leadership decisions and driving QA standards.
