Senior Backend Developer – .NET & Azure

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join our growing engineering team in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will work on large‑scale, customer‑facing platforms, helping to modernise and scale a complex technology stack built on Microsoft technologies and Azure cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications using C# and .NET.
• Build and enhance REST APIs and critical backend services.
• Contribute to platform modernisation, scalability and performance initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, QA Engineers and fellow developers to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Participate in architecture, performance and technical design discussions.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines and overall engineering processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
• Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Mentor team members and share knowledge.

Required profile

• Strong commercial experience developing backend solutions with C# and .NET.
• Proven ability to design, implement and maintain APIs and services.
• Solid experience supporting production systems in a commercial environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Experience working in Agile software development teams.
