Senior Consultant / Managing Consultant – Economist

About the role

SQW Group Ltd is seeking a Senior or Managing Consultant (Economist) to lead high‑impact quantitative research, modelling and evaluation projects across the UK. You will work on policy‑relevant questions in economic development, innovation, employment, health, and the Net Zero transition.

Key responsibilities

• Apply advanced econometric and statistical methods to real‑world policy challenges.
• Conduct policy and programme evaluations, economic impact assessments, and Green Book appraisals.
• Develop forecasts, scenario models and data visualisations.
• Prepare reports, presentations and technical outputs for diverse stakeholders.
• Support business development and contribute to new methodological approaches.

Required profile

• 2:1 or higher degree in economics, econometrics, statistics or a related field (post‑graduate qualifications desirable).
• Proven experience applying econometric techniques to complex policy questions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
