Senior Employment Solicitor – Hybrid, £70k-£85k

About the role

Our client is a Chambers‑ranked law firm in Reading expanding its award‑winning Employment department. They are seeking a Senior Associate Solicitor with at least five years post‑qualification experience to deliver high‑quality, complex employment matters for both claimants and respondents.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on day‑to‑day and strategic employment law issues via phone, email and face‑to‑face meetings.
• Draft employment contracts, policies, settlement agreements and other documentation.
• Prepare claim and response forms, witness statements, legal submissions and evidence bundles.
• Negotiate on behalf of clients and represent them at Employment Tribunal hearings.
• Manage complex tribunal claims, including protected disclosures, discrimination and equal‑pay matters.
• Support restructuring projects, TUPE transfers and workforce changes.
• Respond to helpline queries on contracts, policies, disciplinaries, grievances and data protection.
• Provide employment law advice on corporate transactions and participate in business‑development activities.

Required profile

• 5+ years PQE gained at a recognised London or regional firm.
• Strong technical knowledge across the full spectrum of employment law.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Minimum 2:1 degree.
• Interest in marketing and business development is advantageous.
