Senior Group Financial Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a purpose‑driven organisation seeking a Senior Group Financial Accountant to join their Group Finance function on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders, external auditors and strategic initiatives within a complex multi‑entity group.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of statutory accounts for multiple group entities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and deadlines.
• Support the production of consolidated statutory and management accounts across the group.
• Manage the external audit process, act as the primary contact for auditors and coordinate audit requests.
• Take ownership of regulatory financial reporting and ensure accurate, timely submissions.
• Prepare and submit consolidated and entity VAT returns, liaising with HMRC and external VAT advisors.
• Work with corporation tax advisers to complete annual tax computations and related reporting.
• Provide technical accounting guidance, develop policies and deliver training to finance colleagues.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Financial Accountants and Assistant Financial Accountants.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with extensive experience in group financial reporting and statutory compliance.
• Proven ability to manage external audits and regulatory submissions.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders and external advisors.
