Senior HR Advisor – Southampton Law Firm (up to £45k)

About the role

We are partnering with a respected law firm in Southampton to hire a Senior HR Advisor on a fixed‑term basis. This role offers the chance to influence employee relations strategy within a professional services environment and work closely with senior managers.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for complex employee relations cases, delivering practical, commercially‑focused advice.
• Interpret and apply UK Employment Law, ensuring HR policies and procedures remain up‑to‑date and compliant.
• Manage a varied caseload of employee relations matters from investigation through resolution.
• Support the HR Manager with day‑to‑day operations and contribute to strategic HR projects.
• Coordinate onboarding activities and oversee the full trainee lifecycle.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience at Senior HR Advisor level within a professional services or legal setting.
• Strong employee relations background with a track record of handling complex cases.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
• Proactive, commercially aware, and detail‑oriented.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of UK Employment Law.
• Expertise in developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures.
• Ability to provide clear, actionable advice to managers.
