Senior International Logistics and Freight Forwarding Specialist

About the role

A well-established international organisation providing specialist services to a global customer base is looking for a Senior International Logistics and Freight Forwarding Specialist. The position is fully remote within the UK, with occasional travel required, and is advertised by French Selection. The salary is circa £45,000 per annum.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage end-to-end international freight forwarding operations, ensuring efficient, compliant and cost-effective solutions.
• Manage international shipments across air, sea, road and rail freight, overseeing the process from planning to delivery.
• Coordinate cargo handling, packing, customs clearance and export documentation.
• Select transport solutions according to shipment requirements and manage Incoterms, compliance and international trade procedures.
• Negotiate with freight forwarders, carriers, agents and logistics suppliers.
• Monitor shipments and resolve delays, discrepancies or operational issues.
• Identify process improvements and support an experienced logistics team, with progression towards a supervisory role.

Required profile

• Strong experience in international freight forwarding and logistics coordination, with senior-level experience supporting and supervising an experienced team; previous team leadership is highly desirable.
• Good geographical knowledge of international trade routes.
• Commercially aware, with strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Able to work independently and manage priorities under pressure.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of air, sea and road freight operations.
• Understanding of customs, Incoterms, VAT and export procedures.
• Experience with specialist cargo handling and export packing.
• Proficiency in logistics systems and Microsoft Office.
