Senior Lecturer in Building Information Modelling

About the role

We are recruiting a Senior Lecturer in Building Information Modelling (BIM) to join the School of Architecture and Environment at UWE Bristol. The role will focus on teaching and supporting students on the MSc BIM in Design, Construction and Operations programme and related built‑environment courses.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, workshops and bootcamps on BIM theory and practice for both specialist and interdisciplinary cohorts.
• Design and lead practical sessions using industry‑standard tools and visualisation techniques.
• Develop and update curriculum, assessment materials and learning resources.
• Provide academic guidance and mentorship to undergraduate and postgraduate learners.
• Collaborate with research and industry partners to keep the programme aligned with emerging digital construction trends.

Required profile

• Advanced expertise in BIM with substantial industry or teaching experience.
• Proven ability to design and deliver engaging digital‑construction workshops.
• Strong pedagogical skills and experience teaching small specialist groups and large interdisciplinary classes.
• Commitment to fostering collaboration, digital literacy and sustainability in the built environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit.
• Experience using Dynamo for visual programming.
• Competence in Rhino modelling.
