Senior Mechanical Estimator

About the role

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our team in Sevenoaks. The role involves preparing, managing and submitting competitive tenders for mechanical and MEP projects while identifying value‑engineering opportunities and mitigating commercial risk.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
• Prepare detailed cost plans and tender submissions, quantifying labour, materials, plant, specialist equipment and subcontract packages.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities within tender documents.
• Develop value‑engineering solutions to improve project viability and competitiveness.
• Liaise with internal teams, clients, consultants and supply‑chain partners throughout the tender process.
• Support project handovers to operational teams after successful tender awards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5‑7 years’ experience as a Mechanical Estimator in construction, engineering or MEP contracting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical building services, plant equipment and construction methods.
• Proven ability to prepare detailed tender submissions for mechanical projects.
• Excellent commercial awareness, analytical ability and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with estimating software packages.
