Senior Platform Engineer – DevOps (Kubernetes, Cloud, CI/CD)

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Platform Engineer with DevOps expertise to design, build and maintain scalable, resilient platform solutions. The role focuses on automation, cloud‑native technologies and CI/CD enablement for mission‑critical enterprise systems, especially in regulated banking and financial services. The position is hybrid, combining office, client site and home work.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes‑based platform solutions ensuring high availability, scalability, performance and resilience.
• Lead cluster orchestration, performance tuning, upgrades and operational best practices across environments.
• Build and manage containerised infrastructure using Docker and Kubernetes following cloud‑native design principles.
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform for repeatable, automated provisioning.
• Design, build and support CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and Jenkins.
• Architect and support platform solutions across IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Implement service‑mesh technologies (e.g., Istio) and advanced container networking (e.g., Calico).
• Develop automation and operational tooling with Linux shell scripting and Python.
• Support mobile CI/CD pipelines for Android and iOS as part of a unified delivery platform.
• Administer and support WebSphere Application Server, including installation, configuration and performance tuning.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot complex platform issues and apply root‑cause analysis.
• Collaborate with development, security, QA, DBA and infrastructure teams to deliver stable, compliant platforms.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a DevOps culture and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 8+ years of progressive experience in Platform Engineering and DevOps.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes, container orchestration and cloud‑native architectures.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Terraform and IaC best practices.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI and Jenkins.
• Deep knowledge of IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Advanced experience with Git, including complex branching and workflow strategies.
• Familiarity with build tools Maven and NPM.
• Experience with service‑mesh technologies (Istio) and container networking (Calico).
