Senior Project Manager

About the role

The Senior Capital Project Manager will lead the end‑to‑end delivery of large, complex capital projects across BSW Hospitals Group. You will be responsible for guiding projects from feasibility and business case through design, construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring safety and minimal disruption to patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead major capital projects from inception to handover, both at the base site and across the Group.
• Establish and maintain project governance, scope, schedule, quality and benefits in line with Group PMO standards.
• Manage risks, issues and changes, including fire safety, patient safety and service continuity, with clear audit trails.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, clinical users, Estates operations and external consultants/contractors.
• Oversee procurement and contract management using NEC/JCT frameworks, handling variations, valuations and dispute avoidance.
• Control delegated budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow and cost plans to ensure value for money.
• Deliver effective commissioning, documentation, training and asset handover, capturing lessons learned.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering large‑scale capital projects in a live hospital or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of project governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex contracts.
• Excellent communication and decision‑making skills.
