Senior Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of nationally significant construction and infrastructure projects for a major public‑sector programme. The role sits within a high‑performing consultancy team, is primarily site‑based in Surrey three days a week with additional time in London, and requires BPSS and SC security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project delivery from inception through to completion, ensuring quality, programme milestones and budget targets are met.
• Provide direction to Project Managers responsible for day‑to‑day delivery and act as the main interface with stakeholders.
• Manage project budgets, cost control and change management, maintaining forecast outturn against approved budgets.
• Maintain and chair regular reviews of live risk registers with the wider team.
• Coordinate design teams, consultants and contractors, driving collaboration and service excellence.
• Administer contracts in line with contractual obligations and best practice.
• Promote inclusivity, sustainability and innovation while upholding organisational values.
• Maintain accurate project plans, reports and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Professional membership with RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE (or working towards equivalent).
• Extensive experience delivering public‑sector projects and programmes.
• Strong commercial, financial and stakeholder management capability.
• Proven track record of new‑build project delivery.
• Experience across both infrastructure and property projects (desirable).
• Confidence operating in complex, high‑profile environments.
