Senior Project Manager

About the role

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead design and construction projects for United States Visiting Forces (USVF) based in the UK. Based at RAF Fairford, you will work on a £3.2bn portfolio, delivering projects that support military operations while meeting sustainability and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate integrated project teams through RIBA stages 0–7.
• Deliver design and construction projects on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Manage contracts under NEC frameworks, ensuring compliance with MOD processes and commercial obligations.
• Act as the senior client interface, overseeing industry partners selected via procurement mechanisms.
• Monitor supplier performance on quality, cost, time and reliability, and address emerging issues promptly.
• Support customers in obtaining and maintaining project approvals.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex, technical construction projects.
• Strong leadership and team‑motivation skills for high‑performing project environments.
• Familiarity with MOD procedures and the Key Infrastructure Process.
• Ability to work within a structured programme delivering multiple refurbishment and replacement projects.
