Senior Project Manager – Utility‑Scale Solar PV & BESS

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of utility‑scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the UK. The role is based in Glasgow and involves overseeing projects from early design through to commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead safe, on‑time, on‑budget delivery of Solar PV and BESS projects.
• Take full ownership of projects from pre‑construction to final handover.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams including engineering, construction, commercial, planning, HSEQ and commissioning.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, DNOs, National Grid, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Oversee planning, procurement, programme management, commercial performance, risk and change control.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards, engineering specifications and contractual obligations.
• Chair progress meetings and provide regular updates on schedule, cost and risks.
• Resolve technical, commercial and programme issues to keep projects on track.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering utility‑scale Solar PV and/or BESS projects as a Project Manager.
• Track record of managing projects from inception to handover.
• Strong understanding of design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning and energisation.
• Experience managing budgets, programmes, subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of grid‑connection processes and DNO interfaces is advantageous.
• Familiarity with NEC and/or FIDIC contract administration is desirable.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proactive, commercially aware and able to juggle multiple priorities.
