Senior Proposals Manager

About the role

Costain is expanding its Aviation team and seeks a Senior Proposals Manager to lead the delivery of civil and building framework proposals over the next four years. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to create technical and commercial solutions for high‑value aviation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, oversee and manage the work‑winning process from tender strategy to final submission, following Costain best practice.
• Develop and lead tender strategies, coordinating with project managers, commercial leads and supply‑chain partners.
• Create and monitor tender programmes, ensuring milestones are met and documentation is governance‑compliant.
• Lead the estimating team throughout the proposal phase to produce accurate, competitive bids.
• Facilitate information flow between clients, design teams, estimators, supply‑chain and internal stakeholders.
• Identify potential impacts and mitigation measures with delivery teams and third‑party partners.

Required profile

• Significant experience in a senior bid or proposals management role, preferably within aviation or building sectors.
• Proven ability to develop solutions that meet customer requirements and to price medium‑to‑large contracts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and commercial awareness.
• Ability to manage high volumes of work and multiple concurrent tenders under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts and experience in design or bid management.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
• Expertise in tender/bid management and design management processes.
• Familiarity with NEC contract frameworks.
