Senior Quantity Surveyor – Nuclear Decommissioning

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the Sellafield nuclear decommissioning programme. You will provide expert cost management, contract administration and commercial governance across complex decommissioning projects.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with subcontractors and support cost estimation, budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Administer NEC3/4 contracts, including change control, payment applications and final accounts.
• Support procurement and tendering processes with accurate cost data and commercial input.
• Monitor and report project financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as NDA and ONR requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams, suppliers and stakeholders to maintain commercial alignment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons‑learned in cost and contract management.

Required profile

• Degree‑level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent commercial experience.
• MRICS or equivalent professional membership (or a clear plan to achieve it).
• Proven senior Quantity Surveyor experience in a regulated sector, preferably with engineering focus.
• Experience working within a highly regulated, quality‑assured environment.
• Leadership ability and a record of successful commercial delivery influencing engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts and public‑sector procurement regulations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
