Senior Satellite Terminal Support Engineer

About the role

The Senior Satellite Terminal Support Engineer joins ALLSPACE's Technical Operations Centre to provide expert technical support for satellite customers. You will lead complex investigations, activate live satellite links and ensure high‑availability service for a global client base.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a founding member of the support team, shaping technical support processes and operational capability.
• Lead and coordinate investigations with satellite network operators, teleport providers and modem vendors across RF, IP and modem layers.
• Maintain ownership of customer communications during incidents, delivering proactive and accurate updates.
• Support service activation, commissioning, monitoring and troubleshooting of satellite modems and ground‑segment equipment.
• Operate and improve ITSM processes (Incident, Release, RMA) for network changes, firmware updates and hardware replacements.
• Develop desk‑level procedures and knowledge articles for link bring‑up, modem configuration, fault isolation and recovery.
• Provide real‑time support for demonstrations and customer trials, including pre‑event link validation and live monitoring.
• Perform proactive health checks and analyse telemetry, RF metrics and network performance to prevent service impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Satellite Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related STEM field, or equivalent senior‑level military experience.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in satellite network operations, terminal or modem support, teleport operations or complex field installation.
• Hands‑on experience with GEO, MEO and LEO satellite systems, live link bring‑up and service activation.
• Proven track record of leading time‑critical troubleshooting across satellite, RF, modem and IP layers.
• Ability to thrive in a greenfield or high‑growth environment and make sound technical decisions under pressure.
