Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

LSEG is evolving its Reliability Engineering team to move beyond support and operations. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will join a diverse and inclusive organisation that owns the availability, performance and scalability of one of its most critical shared services. The role suits someone with a passion to learn and a continuous improvement mindset, working in an application support capacity while expanding hands-on cloud SRE experience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain Service Level Objectives for the systems owned, constantly measuring and improving availability, latency and overall system health
• Write automation to scale systems sustainably, prevent service issues or recover quickly when they occur
• Partner with development teams to improve system reliability, observability and release velocity
• Take part in on-call rotations, incident response, postmortems and root cause analysis
• Advocate sound engineering practices for building, deploying and running scalable, reliable services
• Support cloud migration by working with foundation and migration teams, performing architectural reviews, operational acceptance testing and configuring Datadog dashboards and metrics

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related technical field involving software or systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Prior application support experience with a focus on site reliability engineering
• Preferred: 6+ years in the industry

Required skills

• Scripting languages such as Shell or Python
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
• Cloud platform hands-on experience (Azure or AWS)
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Observability tools such as Datadog or Dynatrace
• CI/CD pipelines, incident response and blameless postmortems
• Git workflows
• Preferred: DevOps concepts, algorithms and data structures, identity and access management, application security
