Senior Systems Engineer - Naval Nuclear Programmes

About the role

Babcock is recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer to lead engineering on its Naval Nuclear programmes, working within the Whole Boat & Platform Systems Engineering team. The role sits at the Royal Dockyard in Devonport or the Babcock Technology Centre in Bristol, with hybrid working. It is full time, 35 hours per week, and pays up to £55,800 depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out project management activities including planning, delivery and cost control.
• Liaise with customers and stakeholders to present solutions, progress and outcomes.
• Lead transversal engineering projects and deliver technical solutions to complex engineering problems.
• Implement engineering processes, governance and capability plans that improve how the business operates.
• Undertake engineering investigations and produce clear reports and recommendations.

Required profile

• Degree or Level 5 qualification in a relevant STEM discipline, or substantial relevant experience.
• Experience driving innovation and improving engineering effectiveness and efficiency.
• Proven experience managing projects in fast-moving environments, on time, on budget and to quality standards.
• Sole UK National able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance; the role is subject to national security clearance and trade control restrictions.
