Senior Vice President, Business Selection & Conflicts

About the role

Citi is seeking a Senior Vice President to join its Business Selection & Transactional Conflicts team within the Client Engagements & Conflicts Office. In this high‑impact position you will shape the firm’s decision‑making on complex, high‑stakes transactions, manage franchise risk, and drive enhancements to the team’s core platform.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in‑depth due diligence on potential transactions, analysing qualitative and quantitative data to identify conflicts of interest and franchise sensitivities.
• Partner directly with deal teams to understand industry dynamics and specific opportunities, flagging transactions that require heightened review.
• Prepare clear, concise materials for business leaders, ensuring a documented audit trail of key discussions and decisions.
• Facilitate the end‑to‑end business selection and conflict review process, coordinating with Banking, Legal, Compliance and Risk stakeholders.
• Participate in senior‑level discussions with deal teams, franchise heads and control‑function leaders.
• Ensure client discussions and final documentation align with approved decisions and risk‑mitigation stipulations.
• Lead enhancements to the team’s core platform, contributing to technological innovation and improved risk assessment.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in banking risk management and transaction analysis.
• Strong analytical and judgment skills to assess complex deals and potential conflicts.
• Proven ability to work with senior leadership and influence strategic decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with a focus on creating transparent audit trails.
• Familiarity with regulatory, compliance and control frameworks within the banking sector.
