Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

Join a fast‑growing, sustainability‑focused building services consultancy delivering innovative mechanical and electrical solutions across sectors such as heritage, transport, education, healthcare and commercial development. Based in Oxford, you will lead electrical design projects from concept through to completion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project surveys and site inspections
• Undertake feasibility studies and technical assessments
• Produce and review electrical services designs
• Prepare specifications and technical documentation
• Carry out on‑site supervision and inspections
• Perform contract administration duties
• Manage electrical services installations through project delivery
• Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
• Ensure projects meet quality, programme and budget requirements
• Assist with fee proposals, business development and financial management as your career progresses

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline
• 3‑5 years experience in building services design
• Experience managing and mentoring junior engineers
• Project experience across multiple sectors
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical design software and AutoCAD
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities
• Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
