Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer – Building Services

About the role

We are seeking a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team in Winchester. You will lead the mechanical design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary design teams to create innovative, sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design from concept through detailed design and construction phases.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating mechanical, electrical and specialist inputs.
• Produce calculations, reports, specifications and technical documentation.
• Conduct design reviews and quality assurance to ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing technical advice and support.
• Advise on energy efficiency, sustainability and low‑carbon design strategies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical building services engineering, preferably at senior or principal level.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and stakeholder coordination.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality, compliant engineering solutions.
