Services Assistant (Retail)

About the role

As a Services Assistant you will be the front‑line team member delivering a friendly, efficient shopping experience in a busy Sainsbury’s store. You will support customers at check‑outs, self‑service tills, kiosks and petrol stations, and help with online order pick‑up and Click & Collect parcels.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers at checkout counters, self‑service tills and kiosks, answering queries and offering help.
• Select and pack high‑quality products for on‑demand grocery orders and Click & Collect parcels.
• Handle complaints, refunds, shelf tickets and promotional advertising.
• Move and retrieve shopping trolleys safely in the car park.
• Work flexibly across different store areas, including petrol stations, as needed.

Required profile

• Friendly, welcoming attitude with genuine enthusiasm for helping customers.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, physical environment and work well as part of a team.
• Strong initiative, problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or late evenings if required.
• Right to work in the UK and be above the school‑leaver age (or 18 for early/late shifts).
