Sessional Lecturer – GCSE English

About the role

The School of Foundation, Intermediate Learning and Employability at Kingston College seeks a Sessional Lecturer to teach GCSE English Language to 16‑19 year‑old students, preparing them for June exams and supporting their progress.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lessons following agreed schemes of work and assessment schedules.
• Set and mark at least one piece of work each class weekly, recording results on Pro‑Monitor.
• Mark homework, mock exams and monitor student progress.
• Contribute to curriculum development where appropriate.

Required profile

• Degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject.
• Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
• Excellent teaching skills in GCSE English, with energy, enthusiasm and passion for education.
• Ability to support, motivate and empathise with learners.
• Strong planning, organisational and administrative abilities, with attention to detail and capacity to work under pressure.
