Shift Leader

About the role

We are looking for a Shift Leader to join our store team in Chelmsford, ensuring smooth daily operations and stepping up when the store leadership is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Open and close the store, manage security systems and ensure compliance with health, safety and legal standards.
• Lead a ‘one team’ approach by coaching, guiding and supporting colleagues throughout the shift.
• Maintain operational standards, keep the store ready for trade and handle emergencies or unexpected changes calmly.
• Manage stock rotation, minimise waste and loss, and keep shelves fully stocked for customers.

Required profile

• Enjoys leading a team, delivering excellent customer service and working in a fast‑paced environment.
• Has a sharp eye for detail, can spot opportunities and keep standards high.
• Comfortable using store equipment, tools and retail technology.
• Stays calm under pressure and can handle emergency situations while following safe, legal procedures.
