Shift Leader – Retail Store

About the role

We are looking for a Shift Leader to join our Barnard Castle store team. In the absence of the store leadership you will take responsibility for the safe, legal and effective running of the store, ensuring high standards and a great customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Open and close the store, manage security systems and ensure compliance with health, safety and legal standards.
• Lead the shift team, coaching and supporting colleagues to deliver excellent service and maintain a positive team spirit.
• Maintain operational standards, handle emergencies, enforcement visits and unexpected changes calmly.
• Manage stock and waste, minimise loss through careful rotation and handling, and keep shelves fully stocked.

Required profile

• Loves leading a team and delivering outstanding service to customers.
• Enjoys a fast‑paced, ever‑changing store environment and can stay calm under pressure.
• Has a sharp eye for detail and uses initiative to spot opportunities and keep standards high.
• Comfortable using store equipment, tools and retail technology.
