Shift Manager – Food Manufacturing

About the role

Muller UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Shift Manager to lead production teams at its Skelmersdale food manufacturing site. You will be responsible for overseeing day and night shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality output that meets strict food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a 4‑on/4‑off shift pattern, covering both day and night operations.
• Drive shift performance to meet production targets while maintaining safety and quality.
• Monitor and enforce food safety and quality procedures.
• Coordinate with maintenance, quality, and logistics to minimise downtime.
• Report shift results, incidents, and improvement opportunities to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in food manufacturing or a similar production environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams on rotating shifts.
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and food‑quality regulations.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP).
• Experience with production planning and performance monitoring.
• Ability to operate and interpret manufacturing equipment data.
