Site Manager – Social Housing Refurbishment

About the role

As a Site Manager for Novus you will oversee multiple construction sites across Workington and surrounding areas, delivering planned refurbishment projects for social housing. You will lead a skilled trade team, ensure health and safety compliance, and add social value to local communities while meeting contractual deadlines and budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage site teams, subcontractors and resources to fulfil contract requirements.
• Coordinate pre‑construction documentation such as packs and asbestos surveys.
• Produce accurate contract reports in partnership with the Contracts Manager.
• Identify hazards, conduct risk assessments and enforce health‑ and safety standards.
• Ensure all work complies with legal, statutory and welfare regulations.
• Assist in preparing estimates, bids and tenders.
• Maintain a master programme to monitor multiple live sites and report progress.

Required profile

• Proven experience in planned refurbishment works within social housing or tenanted properties.
• Ability to manage several sites simultaneously and keep projects on budget.
• Strong commercial awareness and communication skills for client and tenant relationships.
• Full UK driving licence for daily travel between sites.
