Skilled Composite Aircraft Fitter – Night Shift

About the role

Join a leading aerospace manufacturer in Bristol as a Skilled Composite Aircraft Fitter on a night shift. You will work on a 12/7 rotating schedule, assembling main wing assemblies and sub‑assemblies for major aircraft programmes on a 6‑month rolling contract with potential permanent placement.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble and trim composite and metallic aircraft components to close tolerances.
• Perform drilling, reaming and countersinking on composite and metal parts.
• Set components in calibrated build jigs and use deburring and fettling tools.
• Operate nut runners, pre‑set torque guns and CNC machines as required.
• Participate in continuous improvement and health & safety activities.

Required profile

• Apprenticeship or minimum Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ in a relevant engineering field.
• Ability to read and interpret aircraft drawings, limits and quality systems.
• Self‑motivated team player with good communication skills.
• Reliable commute to Western Approach, Bristol.

Required skills

• Composite and metallic aircraft assembly techniques.
• Drilling, reaming, countersinking, deburring and fettling.
• Use of calibrated build jigs and torque tools.
• Operation of CNC machines.
• Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office packages.
