Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher – Chartham, Kent

About the role

Our client, a specialist SEN school in Chartham, Kent, is seeking passionate teachers to deliver tailored education for pupils with autism, SEMH and complex learning needs. You will join a multidisciplinary team focused on creating inclusive, supportive learning environments.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet individual SEN pupil requirements.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing classroom atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and external professionals to implement individual learning plans.
• Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies as needed.
• Communicate regularly with parents, carers and external agencies.
• Uphold safeguarding and SEN policies at all times.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching primary‑aged pupils with SEN, particularly ASD, SEMH or complex needs.
• Strong commitment to inclusive education.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) and legal right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions for primary students.
