Staff Nurse – Band 5 Inpatient Team

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our small inpatient team at Cowal Community Hospital in Dunoon. The role involves caring for acutely admitted patients, supporting rehabilitation transfers, and providing complex discharge and end‑of‑life care within a person‑centred environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality nursing care to patients admitted from casualty and regional transfers.
• Coordinate rehabilitation plans and complex discharge processes.
• Provide palliative and end‑of‑life support in line with best practice.
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (NMC) with Band 5 status.
• Newly qualified nurses are encouraged to apply.

• Willingness to work in a small, community‑focused hospital setting.

Required skills

• Current nursing registration (NMC).
