Staff Nurse – Centre for Urgent Care (Band 5)

About the role

The Centre for Urgent Care (CUC) at the Royal Marsden’s Sutton site provides advanced nursing care to cancer patients who present with acute symptoms related to their disease or treatment. The role involves delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care to both ambulatory and elective day‑case patients within a specialist oncology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, document, deliver and evaluate evidence‑based nursing care for patients on the urgent care pathway.
• Support patients on an ambulatory care pathway and provide care for elective day‑case procedures.
• Collaborate with the shift coordinator to ensure care plans are aligned with unit protocols.
• Develop a deeper understanding of the needs of cancer patients and the various treatment modalities used within the unit.
• Assist in managing a shift under the guidance of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse, gaining experience in leadership responsibilities.
