Staff Nurse – General Medicine (Ward 4)

About the role

Join the established General Medicine nursing team on Ward 4, a 30‑bed acute medical unit within NHS Borders. This permanent role offers both full‑time and part‑time contracts, providing the opportunity to develop a broad range of general medical nursing skills.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, patient‑centred nursing care in line with NMC standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support patient recovery.
• Manage day, night and weekend shifts as required by service needs.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to infection‑control policies.

Required profile

• Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in acute or general medicine.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or final‑year nursing student awaiting registration.
• Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Flexibility to work a mix of long and short shifts, including weekends.
