Sterile Services Technician

About the role

The Sterile Services Technician supports the operating theatres, endoscopy, clinics and external customers by ensuring surgical instruments are clean, correctly assembled and ready for use. This non‑patient‑facing role is vital to patient safety and requires the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, receive and check surgical instrument sets from operating rooms and external sites.
• Perform decontamination, washing and inspection of instruments.
• Assemble, pack and sterilise instrument trays according to standard operating procedures.
• Dispatch sterilised packs to internal departments and external customers.
• Maintain accurate records within the Quality Management System.

Required profile

• Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
• Full UK driving licence (transport of instruments to external sites).
• Ability to work on‑site and respond to fluctuating workload peaks.
• Comfort with the sight of blood and a patient‑focused mindset.
