Supermarket Assistant – Christmas

About the role

John Lewis Partnership is looking for a Supermarket Assistant for a Christmas temporary position at its Waitrose in Monmouth. The role covers shopkeeping tasks alongside customer service, with varied part-time hours spread across two days, including early starts, late finishes, evenings and weekends.

Key responsibilities

• Stock replenishment, keeping shelves full and products in the right place at the right time
• Fulfill online customer orders ready for delivery to customers' doors
• Reduce wastage by following product due diligence and markdowns on items approaching sell-by dates
• Support the wider shop team, including checkout support, Click & Collect orders and on-demand orders
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping tasks

Required profile

• Communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers
• Experience in a customer-facing role is welcomed
• Flexible approach to support the whole branch

Required skills

• Desirable: up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends

What we offer

• Pay of £13.00, rising to £13.25 after 90 days
• Night premium of £3.75 per hour for work between 22:00 and 06:00
