Supermarket Assistant – Waitrose Canterbury

About the role

Waitrose in Canterbury is looking for a Supermarket Assistant to help customers feel the difference on every visit, delivering the partner-led service and passion for food that defines the brand. The role covers shop-keeping tasks that keep the store running efficiently and productively. Pay is £13.00, rising to £13.25 after 90 days.

Key responsibilities

• Stock replenishment, keeping shelves full and products in the right place at the right time.
• Fulfill online customer orders ready for delivery to customers' doors.
• Reduce waste by following product due diligence and markdowns on items approaching sell-by dates.
• Support the wider shop team, including checkout support, managing Click & Collect orders and fulfilling on-demand orders.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment with general shopkeeping tasks.

Required profile

• Applicants must be 18 years or over due to working time regulations.
• Communication skills to work effectively as part of a team and with customers.
• Customer-facing experience is welcomed.
• Desirable: up-to-date knowledge and strong interest in food and drink trends, and a flexible approach to supporting the whole branch.

• Night premium of £3.75 per hour for work between 22:00 and 06:00, including existing partners on Enhanced Hours Premium.
